Christmas

Tomorrow is the special day we sit aside to celebrate the Birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ! I wonder just how many people will actually even think about Him as they spend the day with family and friends, opening gifts, cooking, eating and visiting? I sometimes wonder if we are truly ready for Christmas? The end of the poem that I use to read to the boys went something like this:

Ready for Christmas

To be ready means more than a house swept clean.

Yes, more than the giving of gifts and a tree,

It's the heart swept clean that He wants to see;

A heart that is free from bitterness, sin---

Ready for Christmas---ready for Him!

******************************************

To us a child of HOPE is born!

Are You ready for Christmas?

John 3:17 :For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved."

"Happy Thanksgiving"

Psalms 100:4-5

"Enter into his gates with THANKSGIVING and into his courts with praise; be THANKFUL unto him, and bless his name." "For the LORD is good; and his truth endureth to all GENERATIONS."

During this Thanksgiving I want to stop and say, "Thank you Lord for blessing our lives this year!" We may not always get everything we want but we do get everything that we need.

God's Word is so full of many wonderful promises! When he said: "I will never leave thee nor forsake thee," I believe this is one of the most wonderful ones!! (Heb.13:5)

Let's stop a few minutes this Thanksgiving and Count all the blessings God has given us! I am sure the list will be quite long!!

Where ever you spend this Thanksgiving, have a wonderful, thankful time!

The Lord Bless You!

Vote!

After much prayer and consideration we left our home at 8:01 AM today, November 4, 2008, to go to our voting place and cast our ballot for the next President of the United States! What a privilege it was to vote. We believe the results are in the Lord's hands! Even though none of my grandchildren are at the voting age there is one thing they can do and that is pray for our next President, no matter who that may be!! Please count this as a privilege, as a Christian, to have the freedom to pray! I will leave you with one verse from God's Word.

"Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve........But as for me and my house we will serve the Lord." Joshua 24:15

Grandpa Putting In New Sewer

Grandpa is working on the new hook up! It sure is a lot of work and he is really tired at the end of the day! I praise the Lord, however, that he is cabable of doing everything! He's a good worker and takes pride in what he does! He gives the Lord all the glory for this talent! Just think of how much we save by him doing all the work! Praise The Lord for a wonderful husband!

On The Victory Side

I was going through a bunch of old paper stuff when I ran across this little poem. It says a lot and I want to share it with you!

There's VICTORY o'er Satan
And Freedom from shame;
Look only to Jesus, there's
Power in His name.
The Devil can't harm you nor
Cause you to sin,
When you trust the Savior,
the VICTORY you'll win.

To Defeat Satan-
Surrender to Christ!

Psalm 119:105 "Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path."

Water

This is the only day we got rain from the storms. It came all the way up to the car port. What fun!

Thought for the Day

Ephesians 6:1 "Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right."

This verse comes with a promise in verse 3"That it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest live long on the earth."

I believe God blesses children who obey their parents. And I believe God blesses parents who take the time to discipline their children in a godly way, with love. (We will say more on that later!)

That's all for today, but there will be more to come.

I am a gramma and I love all my little lambs!

Matties Birthday

Here's a picture of Mattie with her sisters Hanna and Chloe. Mattie is 4. Mattie is the youngest daughter of Matt and Lacey. Happy Birthday, Mattie!

Storms

Well, Praise the Lord none of the last 3 Hurricanes hit us here in Florida!! We are very thankful for that. However we are praying for our families in Indiana who had a lot of flooding. My daughter- in- law, Jyll, said some of the water has gone down. The Lord is good! Also please pray for Jyll who has the flu!!

Keep the hope alive, in Jesus!!
