"Count Your Blessings"

Thankfulness results from a right relationship with God! Thankfulness is not dependent upon self, family, friends or circumstances. Thankfulness should be spontaneous, not forced. It should overflow in our lives. This kind of faithfulness pleases God and is a blessing to others! We should be thankful for living in a free world. We should be overwhelmed with gratitude for our faithful Pastors and godly fellow Christians! In fact we should be doubly blessed with God's presence and promises. Regardless of where we are in life we have much to be thankful for!!

The lack of praise in a Christians life may be an indication of real serious spiritual problems!

May we take the time to remember to praise and thank the Lord for his goodness to us!!

I am thankful for each and everyone of you!!

"Laughter-A Gift From God"

In my daily devotional taken from 'Feature' A daily Bible Study Guide I came across this article about Laughter. So I thought I would share some of that article with you!

This is a picture of my youngest grand daughter, Jyll! (Isn't she precious!) I just love this picture because it reminds me that I need what she gives to us all, a daily dose of 'Laughter'!

Proverbs 15:13A "A merry heart maketh a cheerful countenance".

Proverbs 17:22A: "A merry heart doeth good like medicine".

Laughter is a great gift in this sinful world. Humor should be an important part in our lives. Problems and difficulties can be overwhelming and situations and challenges we face daily can be downright frightening! Life can take a toll not only emotionally but physically as well. Sometimes we feel we will either bend or break!

A 'merry' heart never laughs at the difficulties of others! Do not communicate something that will cause that kind of laughter at their expense!!

However, many of us can remember comical incidents in our own lives that have occurred from time to time!!

Laughter is a great stress reliever!

When the situation is suitable laughter and a 'merry' heart are good medicine!

One day we had our little Mattie over to spend the day with us. We were getting ready to go to McDonalds for lunch. She ask me, at one point, if I were ready to go. I told her I had to put my make-up on and then we could go. She looked at me and said: "I didn't think old people wore make-up"! I just cracked up!! In fact I had to laughed out loud! Mattie looked at me like I was crazy, but for the rest of the day everytime I thought about what she said, I had to chuckle a little!!

A 'Merry' heart is medicine for the soul!!

"Building a Home"

It took Grandpa, Hannah and Chloe almost a whole Saturday to put this 3-D puzzle together. They sure had fun and determination!!
Matthew 7:24 & 25
"I will liken him unto a wise man,which built his house upon a rock."
" And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the wind blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock."
We know that adversity will come to each and every household, but the one that is built on Jesus Christ will sustain the winds of adversity!
SO BUILD YOUR LIFE ON THE LORD JESUS CHRIST!!

Hornets-Bible Facts

Revelation 9:10 "And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months."

Grandpa found this hornets nest in his shed.

Praise the Lord that during the 'tribulation' Christians will not have to go through this woe that will come upon the earth!

We are reminded daily of his coming in some way! Are you ready for His return?

There is only one way and that is through Jesus Christ, our Lord.

John 3:16 reminds us of this fact.

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."
It is my prayer, that if you read this and are not ready, you may make that decision today!

"The Whole Armor of God"

Ephesians 6:10-18
10: Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
11: Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12: For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
13: Wherefore, take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to with stand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14: Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;
15: And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
16: Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.
17: And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:
18: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.

2 Timothy 4:7
" I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith."

It is so important that we equip our selves with the whole armor of God daily!
Paul saw the importance in his service for Christ. Paul had been whipped, beaten, stoned and imprisoned and was often hungry, thirsty, cold and weary. With this armor Paul was able to: "Quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one."

With God’s armor we too are fully covered and prepared for battle! To guard against the deceitful crafty foe we, like Paul, must put on the whole armor of God! Then we can have the confidence that we can stand and know we have "Kept the Faith" to the very end!

I like what the Daily Bread says: God’s armor is tailor-made for you, but you must put it on.

Sound the battle cry! See--the foe is nigh!
Raise the standard high for the Lord;
Gird your amor on, stand firm, everyone;
Rest your cause upon His Holy Word.

Jyll Jonnee-Little Lamb

Jyll Jonnee was born on April 14, 2009. She is such an adorable little girl! The Doctors said it was a liitle 'BOY' but God had other plans! I am sure He has something very special for her to do.
Jyll is the 5th child born to Jon and Jyll, our 2nd. Son. They now have 4 girls and one boy! God has truly blessed them with this little lamb. We told Luke that God wanted him to be the big brother to 4 sisters. We joked with him and said he was the thorn between 2 roses and he ask me what a thorn was! When I told him he said he didn't want to be a thorn!!! HA! Luke is truly a blessing and has big shoes to fill. We will pray for him daily!! Well, with 4 sisters he is sure to get his own room! Way to go Luke!! We love you!! Looks like Gramma Weav and Grandpa Weav are sure happy about this one!!

Jyll Jonnee has 3 other sisters, Stepheny 14, Adrienne who is soon to be 10 and Brooke who will be 4 in July! ( And of course brother Luke who will be 6 in June!) Congratulations on the newest little Weaver Lamb!

'Daily Devotional'

Clearing Out the Clutter
I’m sure each one of us have those little places where we hide our clutter; for some it may the garage, or a junk drawer or maybe you have even bought a little shed in which to store all your ‘things’ that you just know you will have a use for it later. Many times we are afraid to open those places of ‘storage’, because we are ashamed for other people to see the clutter!
Periodically we need to set aside the time to clean up the clutter.

Because we are in the world, our hearts and minds also accumulate clutter from those, we associate with daily. Unknowingly we pick up ungodly thoughts and attitudes. Sometimes we develop the "It’s All About Me" attitude. Before long, our hearts and minds are no longer clean and orderly. And while we think we can hide the mess, be certain, it will eventually show!

I Corinthians 6:19
"What? Know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not of your own?"

Perhaps it’s time to set aside a spiritual workday and, with His help, get to work clearing out the clutter. Discard those thoughts of bitterness. Bag up and throw out the old patterns of sensual thoughts. Organize your attitudes. Fill your heart with the beauty of God’s Word. Make it clean to the core and leave it open for all to see!

More like the Master I would ever be
More of His meekness, more humility;
More zeal to labor, more courage to be true,
More consecration for work He bids me do.---------Gabriel

Don’t let the Spirit reside in a cluttered heart.
Take some time to clean it up today!
And remember it’s not all about you but, ‘It’s All About God’!

"God's Amazing Love"

Ephesians 3:19 "And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God." (KJV)

Could we with ink the ocean fill
And were the skies
of parchment made,
Were every stalk on earth a quill
And every man a scribe by trade,
To write write the love of God above
Would drain the ocean dry,
Nor could the scroll
Contain the whole
Though stretched from sky to sky.

These marvelous lyrics echo Paul's belief about God's love to mankind!

If we could only comprehend what is the width, the length, the depth and the height of God's love! Some people believe that the 'width' refers to it's worldwide embrace (John 3:16); 'length',is God's existence through all ages (Eph. 3:21), 'depth', it is profound wisdom (Rom. 11:33); and 'height' is it's victory over sin opening the way to heaven for everyone who believes (Eph. 4:8).

We need to appreciate this amazing love! But we soon realize it is beyond or understanding. Even if the ocean were filled with ink, as we write about God's love, we would soon drain it dry!

God's love cannot be explained--it can only be experienced!!

Thanks for 'LOVING'!

Prayer

In my personal devotions I read a portion of Scripture on Prayer. (Habakkuk 1:1-4) Now, I'm not the best prayer warrior, but often I find my self praying for people or things that God brings to my mind each day. When we hear the prompting of the Holy Spirit to pray for someone, I think we better just stop what we are doing and pray! God invites us to a steady and honest flow of communication. We find many examples of 'Honest' prayers in the Word of God. I am surprised to see how many biblical prayers seems to be ill-tempered. Jeremiah griped about unfairness (Jer. 20:7-10); Habakkuk accused God of deafness (Hab. 1:2); and Job conceded, "What profit do we have if we pray to Him?" (Job 21:15). The Bible teaches us to pray with blistering honesty! After all God knows our heart!! I think God wants us to come to Him with our complaints. If we march through life pretending to smile while inside we bleed, we dishonor the relationship.

Give Him each perplexing problem,
All your needs to Him make known;
Bring to Him your daily burdens-
Never carry then alone!

Want to know what your spiritual temperature is, check the your intensity of your prayer life.--(Spurgeon)

Have a great prayer life!

Happy New Year!

WOW! 2009-Where did 2008 go? I think the older I get the faster it goes:) As I was thinking about this new year I was asking myself the question:"Will I be faithful in my Bible reading this year?" I must confess that today is January 3 and already I have not been that faithful!
How will each of us read the Bible this year? Will we read it just to say we did or will we read it with the aim of doing what it says? I thought, I don't just want to read it but I want to live it!

The Daily Bread has a poem that I like. It says:

The Bible gives us all we need
To live our lives for God each day.
But it won't help if we don't read
Then follow what its pages say.

Matthew 7:24 says :

"Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which builds his house upon a rock."

We know that rock is Jesus Christ!

I like what our Pastor told us: "God may change His will for you, but the Word of God never changes."

Build your life on the Lord Jesus Christ. He never fails!!
