Prayer

In my personal devotions I read a portion of Scripture on Prayer. (Habakkuk 1:1-4) Now, I'm not the best prayer warrior, but often I find my self praying for people or things that God brings to my mind each day. When we hear the prompting of the Holy Spirit to pray for someone, I think we better just stop what we are doing and pray! God invites us to a steady and honest flow of communication. We find many examples of 'Honest' prayers in the Word of God. I am surprised to see how many biblical prayers seems to be ill-tempered. Jeremiah griped about unfairness (Jer. 20:7-10); Habakkuk accused God of deafness (Hab. 1:2); and Job conceded, "What profit do we have if we pray to Him?" (Job 21:15). The Bible teaches us to pray with blistering honesty! After all God knows our heart!! I think God wants us to come to Him with our complaints. If we march through life pretending to smile while inside we bleed, we dishonor the relationship.

Give Him each perplexing problem,
All your needs to Him make known;
Bring to Him your daily burdens-
Never carry then alone!

Have a great prayer life!

My Nephew and His Wife and Son, Noah

This is a picture of Bill Fugate, Jr. and his wife, Ayami and their Son Noah. Bill is an English teacher in Japan. He has his own English School, one of the Largest in their city in Japan and he also teaches in their elementary schools there. Ayami is a Dentist. Noah was born in January of 2008, so he is one now! I am very proud of him! My sister Peggy was his mother. She passed away in 2005. She was really proud of him too! She would have loved and spoiled Noah. They are a part of my extended 'Little Lambs'! I hope to get to see them in August, this summer! Enjoy!
Bill and Noah. I think Bill said they were hiking in the mountains! Isn't Noah such a handsome little guy! God Bless them all!

Happy New Year!

WOW! 2009-Where did 2008 go? I think the older I get the faster it goes:) As I was thinking about this new year I was asking myself the question:"Will I be faithful in my Bible reading this year?" I must confess that today is January 3 and already I have not been that faithful!
How will each of us read the Bible this year? Will we read it just to say we did or will we read it with the aim of doing what it says? I thought, I don't just want to read it but I want to live it!

The Daily Bread has a poem that I like. It says:

The Bible gives us all we need
To live our lives for God each day.
But it won't help if we don't read
Then follow what its pages say.

Matthew 7:24 says :

"Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which builds his house upon a rock."

We know that rock is Jesus Christ!

I like what our Pastor told us: "God may change His will for you, but the Word of God never changes."

Build your life on the Lord Jesus Christ. He never fails!!
