"Chicken Encounter"

This summer while in Indiana we had a great time putting "Real Chicken" on the table!! None of that store bought stuff! My Son and his family raised these chickens to be meat for their table and believe me they were delicious! But, it was a lot of work, too. Enclosed are a few pictures of our "Encounter"!! I'll try to post more later, but I has taken me awhile to get these on. HA!

"Why I Am A Baptist"

"Why I Am Baptist", was the sermon preached this past Sunday! Pastor also gave us 8-Distinctives of Baptist Churches, which I have enclosed on my blog!! Enjoy!

Historically, Baptist have held to the Following distinctives, based on Bible teachings.

Biblical authority in all matters of faith and practice.(John 17:17; Acts17:11)

Autonomy or self-governing power of the local church.(Colossians 1:18; I Timothy 3:15)

Priesthood of every believer-each believer is his own priest and has direct access to God's truth and God's will for his life. (I Timothy 2:5-6; Hebrews 4:14-16)

Two officers within the church-pastors and deacons. (Acts 6:1-7 I Timothy 3:1-13)

Individual Soul Liberty-every man and woman must choose personally to come to Christ for Salvation. (Roman 10:17; Romans 14:1-8)

Separation of Church and State-the state should have no power to intervene in the free exression of religious liberty. (Matthew 22:21; Acts 5:29-31)

Two Ordinances-Baptism and the Lord Table (Communion) (Matthew 28:19-20 I Corinthians 11:23-24)

Security of the Believer-salvation is a gift from God that cannot be taken away. (John 10:27-28; IPeter 1:3-5 and Hebrews 13:5)

That's a lot to think about but it sure sums it up in a nut shell! I hope I have given you something to think about!!

This past summer I got to have lunch with some old (no pun intended!) friends from Union Mills, In. We had a great time, talking about old times and getting caught up on our daily lives. God has been so good to all of us, even in our deepest woes! We know that ...."He will never leave us nor forsake us." Heb. 13:5

Happy Anniversary

Wow! On June 12, 1965 I became Mrs. Donald Weaver!! 46 years ago!! It's just amazing that I have been married to such an Amazing man for that many years. The one and only!! He is my best buddy and a friend. We have had many wonderful years and lots of laughter. But, most of all the reason behind this wonderful marriage, is the Lord Jesus Christ! Without Him we could not survive!! The Bible teaches that a man (and woman) should leave their father and mother and should cleave unto his wife and the wife to her husband!! Don has been the head of our home for these 46 years and I have been his helpmeet! (Just as it should be.) God is so good to allow us to be with each other for this length of time. We only pray that we can have many more years together!!! You may say that no marriage is perfect, but then I say it can be if the Lord is the center!! If both of us put Christ first, then we are in a very special place, right next to Jesus!!
He can give you a joyful 46 years, too!!!! Have a great day!!!

"Happy Belated Birthday,Sweetie"

On March 8, 2011, the love of my life, celebrated his 69th Birthday! We had Matt and his family in on the 7th and had Birthday Cake and then we went out on the 8th to celebrate with Kevin and Lori! My brother, Sam and his friend Pat where here and they got to help celebrate, too!! We had a fantastic time on both days!! It's not every day a person turns 69! HA!

Don has been my strong hold for almost 46 years now and he is a tremendous testimony to us all! God has been #1 in his life and that is why I am truly blest!!

Happy Birthday, Honey and many more!!

"Happy February Birthdays"

Birthday Cake??

I just had to post this cake! Yes, it is a cake, well what is left of the cake, after my grandsons, Nate and Wyatt got done with it! It seems as though they had a little "bite" while their parents were taking a little nap! By the way they were suppose to be napping, also! Mike said he fell asleep and he was awakened by giggles coming from the kitchen. He quietly stepped into the kitchen and watched a few minutes while the boys were having a little bite. He then said"What are you doing?" Immediately they put their little hands behind their backs and said"Nothing!" Mike said it was something he would have done, and I would agree, so he couldn't get after them! They had icing all over their faces and on the back of their shirts!! It was such a cute picture I just had to post it with the February Birthdays!! Yes it was a Birthday cake for Wyatt!!
