Prayer

In my personal devotions I read a portion of Scripture on Prayer. (Habakkuk 1:1-4) Now, I'm not the best prayer warrior, but often I find my self praying for people or things that God brings to my mind each day. When we hear the prompting of the Holy Spirit to pray for someone, I think we better just stop what we are doing and pray! God invites us to a steady and honest flow of communication. We find many examples of 'Honest' prayers in the Word of God. I am surprised to see how many biblical prayers seems to be ill-tempered. Jeremiah griped about unfairness (Jer. 20:7-10); Habakkuk accused God of deafness (Hab. 1:2); and Job conceded, "What profit do we have if we pray to Him?" (Job 21:15). The Bible teaches us to pray with blistering honesty! After all God knows our heart!! I think God wants us to come to Him with our complaints. If we march through life pretending to smile while inside we bleed, we dishonor the relationship.

Give Him each perplexing problem,
All your needs to Him make known;
Bring to Him your daily burdens-
Never carry then alone!

Want to know what your spiritual temperature is, check the your intensity of your prayer life.--(Spurgeon)

Have a great prayer life!
