"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sins, and will heal their land."
What an amazing verse!
Every Sunday our Pastor writes a message on the back of the Bulletin called "From My Heart".
Yesterday's message was called 'Prayer of National Repentance'.
It reads as follows:
" Heavenly Father, we come before you today to ask Your forgiveness and to seek Your direction and guidance. We know Your Word says, "Woe to those who call evil good", but that is exactly what we have done. We have lost our spiritual equilibrium and reversed our values. We confess that,
We have worshipped other gods and called it multiculturalism;
We have endorsed perversion and called it alternative lifestyle;
We have exploited the poor and called it lottery;
We have rewarded laziness and called it welfare;
We have killed our unborn and called it choice;
WE have shot abortionist and called it justifiable;
We have neglected to discipline our children and called it building self-esteem;
We have abused power and called it politics;
We have coveted our neighbor's possessions and called it ambition;
We have polluted the air with profanity and pornography and have called it freedom of expression;
WE have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment.
Search us, Oh God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and set us free!
(What a wonderful prayer offered by Rev. Joe Wright at the new session of the Kansas Senate, January 1996.)
Oh, how much more do we need to lift up our Nation today!
Let's get on our knees and ask God to do a mighty miricle in our Nation!!!
"If My People"
In Christ, Who Is Able to do a Mighty work!
Love to All

Steph
I mean no disrespect when I say that some of this prayer makes me sick to my stomach. It is true that humans look to many different things for comfort.
