What Kind of Friends do You Have?

I guess this time of the year brings back remembrances of old friends and what they mean to us. Just recently in my personal devotions and sermons from our Pastor I am reminded of what kind of friends I should have. Thus I am sharing some of these thoughts, with you!!!

What Kind of Company Do You Keep?
(Unequal Yoke)
I Corinthians 15:33
"Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners."

In this text God is telling us not to be lead astray by the company or friends that we have. We must not deceive ourselves into thinking something good or beneficial can come from wicked relationships. God wants us to have good friends!

An unequal yoke is an unbalanced relationship! There is truth in the old maxim, "A man is known by the company he keeps." Jesus disciples were known by the company they kept, they were known as "Jesus Disciples." Companions and friendships are important in our daily lives.
Even our Lord chose twelve men to be his follower’s, providing Him with companionship and support, on occasion.

We need friends, and when we stop and consider those with whom we associate, surely we can see the impact they have on our life. Our friends help to formulate our character and influence us in the various circumstances we face. Whether we will admit it or not, the type of people who surround us can have a tremendous impact on the kind of person we are.

Therefore, we need to be very careful of the people we choose to be our friends!
Psalm 119:63 tells us we need to have friends that fear the Lord!

"I am a companion of all them that fear thee, and of them that keep thy precepts."

Who has the greatest impact on your thoughts and actions? Take care when it comes to the company you keep!

What a blessing good friends are to us daily!!

Love to All

This is good!!
Just to add a little to this post...I believe that the closer you are to the Lord, the closer you will be to your husband (my best friend) and HE will always guide you to the "company" you should keep.
God gave us Jesus as the "PERFECT" example and now in our hearts (if you have been saved) the Holy Spirit guides you through your relationships.
I thank the Lord for godly in-laws and a wonderful church family who support us in our friendships!
God is GOOD ALL the time!!

Thanks for this today-mom!

Yes you may use this picture!! Jyll, I agree with you! My little lovey has been my best friend all my life, well, since we met, and I can talk to him about anything!! But our Best Friend, Jesus, has blessed us through the years! I could go on but you know what I mean. Put Jesus first and we will not have any problems with the friends we choose!!

Love you all
